Fire Risk Assessment
If you’re an owner, landlord or occupier of business or other non-domestic premises (including houses in multiple occupation), you’ll be responsible for fire safety and are known as the ‘responsible person’.
As the responsible person you must:
- carry out a fire risk assessment of the premises and review it regularly
- tell staff or their representatives about the risks you’ve identified
- put in place, and maintain, appropriate fire safety measures
- plan for an emergency
- provide staff information, fire safety instruction and training
We will attend your place of business and undertake a risk assessment to ensure your premises complies with the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 (Scotland) or the Fire Safety Order (England).
Our fire risk assessor will have your appointed person accompany them during the risk assessment process. For low risk environments, our assessor will provide your appointed person with the knowledge they need to undertake annual reviews of the Fire Risk Assessment.
